Our Founder

Mona Hennein

Mona Hennein, President and CEO of Life Focus Media, carries the legacy of her parents, Swailem and Sameera Hennein, who became Egypt’s first missionaries to leave their homeland and bring God’s Word to the challenging terrain of southern Sudan. Inspired by their pioneering spirit, Mona embraced her calling as a ‘modern-day missionary,’ determined to bring personal faith into the world of media.

Her journey began when she founded Life Focus Media to bridge the gap in faith-based programming on network television. As a broadcast journalist, Mona discovered that behind every life-changing story lies a powerful testimony of faith.

However, Mona’s path took an unexpected turn when personal tragedy struck. The devastating loss of her brother to suicide shattered her world and left her grappling with profound questions about her faith. Like many who experience trauma, she wondered where God was in her darkest moments. His silence felt like punishment, and she struggled to understand why her prayers seemed unanswered.

Through this ‘Job-like’ experience, Mona’s faith was transformed. She realized that, while she may never fully understand why suffering occurs, God’s love remains unwavering. Even in the depths of her pain, He had not abandoned her. This profound shift in perspective led her to focus on the trauma of others, with a desire to bring help, hope, and healing to those questioning God’s presence or love in their lives.

Her shift in production began with a documentary filmed in war-torn Congo, where she witnessed unimaginable suffering. After hearing heartbreaking stories of survival from the longest war in African history, Mona and her team felt compelled to create programs that demonstrate how God’s Word provides immediate comfort to people experiencing the worst kinds of trauma.

Today, Life Focus Media shares real-life stories of resilience, faith, and healing, offering hope to those facing life’s most difficult trials.

Why Trauma Healing?

At Life Focus Media, we recognize that trauma impacts everyone in some way. The deep emotional scars it leaves can hinder our ability to live fully. While producing Hope Rising, a documentary highlighting the power of biblical trauma healing in the aftermath of Congo’s devastating conflict, we saw firsthand the incredible transformation that healing can bring.

The response was extraordinary, as people from both secular and Christian backgrounds resonated with the message of hope and restoration. Healing from trauma allows us to form a stronger connection with the Bible, offering a chance to experience God’s love in life-changing ways. It also helps us rediscover our true selves, as God created us to be, and better prepare us to engage with Him and His Word.
